Bathymetric LiDAR
Digital Terrain Model
Using the Hawk Eye laser scanning system, Blom is able to offer accurate and detailed LiDAR surveys of riverbeds, coastal margins and shallow water areas. This LiDAR technology has the unique ability to capture both land and seabed data simultaneously, helping to reduce costs and improve bathymetric survey accuracy.
Hawk Eye is also fitted with a digital camera which is able to provide high resolution photography to enhance assessment of the hydrographic survey area.
Once data processing is complete, a single Hawk Eye flight can produce LiDAR data for both the land (topographic) and seabed (bathymetric) and also high quality digital photography of the entire survey area.
The system is most commonly operated from an aeroplane and is therefore able to complete surveys rapidly and efficiently. This can often lead to a saving of up to 40% from the cost of a traditional hydrographic survey for coastal zones and shallow water.
Benefits
- Simultaneous capture of land and sea
- Fast and efficient data capture
- Aircraft situated world wide for rapid deployment
- Up to 40% cheaper than traditional survey methods
- Variable swathe widths to suit requirements
